Chung Wah Association was founded in 1909. It is a non-profit organisation and is the largest and most established Chinese organisation in Western Australia. We are recognised by the federal, state, and local governments as the spokesperson for the Chinese community in Western Australia. The total number of financial members is 2,100. The core values for the Association is to take care of its members and the Chinese community in terms of welfare, as well as promotion of the Chinese culture and goodwill between the Chinese community and the local community. The many services and activities of the Association include Community and Aged Care Services, Community Chinese Language Education, Chinese Folk Dance, Orchestra, Lion and Dragon Dance, Choirs, Operas, Dragon Boating, Ping-Pong, etc.
Perth Chinese New Year Fair
ABOUT THE EVENT
Perth Chinese New Year Fair is back on Sunday 6 Feb, 2022 to celebrate the Lunar New Year - Year of the Tiger. Held in Perth Cultural Centre and WA Museum Boola Bardip from 12 - 9 pm. Rich in culture and full of entertainment, featuring highly anticipated lion and dragon dances, multicultural concerts and zodiac lanterns display.
This annual free admission street carnival is one of the largest and most popular community events in the City of Perth with an annual attendance of 20,000 visitors, volunteers and participants. Come celebrate the Chinese festival and culture and the cultural diversity of the Western Australian community with stalls, art and craft workshops, competitions, games and rides, and colorful cultural performances.
